US Navy Mission Challenge Coin

The mission of the Navy is to maintain, train, and equip combat ready naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas. The mission is a leadership directive officially maintained by the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and, as of 2026, focuses on protecting America at sea and maintaining open seas.

The Mission Statement is a strategic directive focused on operational readiness and the purpose of the organization. 

The US Navy Mission coin contains the statement that defines the functional, strategic goal of the Navy. It is minted in a zinc alloy, with antique brass plating, featuring enameled wood-grain texture.

Each coin measures 2 1/4″ inches (57mm) in diameter.
